pedal dies
i've got a 01 ram 3500 cummin ho six speed. i just bought it. when i left work today the check engine light came on and i lost pedal. i limped it off to the side of the road and shut the engine off and started it again seemed to work fine i went to o-riellys and checked fault codes i had 2 codes throttle pedal switch a performance problem and an over boost condition. i cleared the codes drove almost all the way home and it did it again. its stock except for straight pipe exhaust. wondering if there are seperate idle validation switchs or if its all part of the throttle position potentiometer.

I'd check lift pump pressure before I did anymore driving with it! Maybe you'll be lucky enough to catch a failing lift pump instead of a VP

lift pump checks out diesel tech at dealer said it was more than likely the throttle position sensor told me i really didn't need to watch pressure more concerned with pump flow so i checked pump flow and pressure. after doing so check engine light went out and hasn't acted up sense drove 10 miles or so.

what codes where set??. Usually you dont get dead pedal on stick shift trucks because of the tps. I started to have same issues with mine and the vp44 was shot after replacemment my issues went away. jr
