6th Annual Get Together & Dyno Day

Yes, the official notice.
Mike's Custom Trucks in Northwood, ND is hosting the 6th annual MN/ND/SD/MB get together & dyno day on Saturday, March 24th.

$40 for a full dyno which is usually 2-3 runs. (20% off the regular price). This is on a ground level dynojet. No height, length, width, or weight restrictions. No need to remove the training wheels on duallies.

Mike finally got the bugs worked out of his engine dyno and is planning to have something diesel on the stand.

Hope to see you there.

I would highly recommend taking the extra rubber off the dually's as last year put some pretty nasty gouges on my inside duals. This year I am running singles so it won't be an issue... I have andy in my sights!!!!!

I cannot figure out how your inside duals got marred. The outer tire tread is about half on the roller. Did you have larger than stock tires that caused them to rub?
We'll look for that this year when the first duallie is strapped down.

I'm hoping to beat that 570hp number if the slushie will hold it. It seems to be ok now but it still seems to be a little looser than I remember. I am going to put a lockup silinoid in it to hopefully fix the slipping in od. I was told by the guy who built it that he thinks it is either the silinoid or the tc which is brand new and is sopposed to be better than the stocker by quite a bit but something isn't holding... My uncle who did the r&r on it said to run it till it breaks then they will just have to rebuild it all.

The only thing we can figure is the truck wasn't centered on the rollers and an outer tire dropped.
For those looking for high number, I think you will get more by dropping the outers, too.

Yo turbo tubby;
You got ladder bars on that truck yet? I seem to recall some pretty nasty spring wrap last year.

I was watching one of those horsepower TV shows on spike over the weekend. They used the dyno brake to load a car to make a run. Last night I asked Mike if that would work on loading up those phat turbos. Too much torque for the dyno brake.

When did they change the forums? I had a heck of a time finding the thread.

with out loading the dyno a little bit (I.E. just enuff to bring the boost up.) its a waste of time as i see it. last year i picked up 30hp from loading it just enuff to make the trubo light. and no im not picking on anybody. just standing up for the guys with twins and big singles. as for the ladderbars thats a big neggative there pigpen.

I remember the jump. That's why I was asking Mike about the built in braking system. Wish there is a way to use both the dyno brake and truck brakes to get a good load.

There's always a couple options. Make the run out to Wisconsin and ride a load dyno. Wait, probably not let any truck run that might drip a little oil?
How about pulling the motor and running the land & sea in the back room?

I just went to a dyno about a month ago. The guy there just held the brake to spool it up more and it ran about the same boost as on the street. Seemed to work well for us there. Dunno if Mike does that or not.

That final round with Andy's truck was several pulls against the brakes. That's the lost 30 hp mentioned. It took a bit of coaxing to get the phatty to spool.
