Cat needs to go!!!!

I've had it trying to find a muffler to fit the length between the cat and stack turn-up.Everything short enough is useless. The cat is gutted and is on for inspection reasons but I'm ready to cut it off so a real muffler will fit.
What can the law do to you if they noticed it gone?I can get it inspected just don't want some fat ticket if it was ever checked by law enforcement.Has anybody had any run in from removing it?Is there some kinda lie you could tell them if it ever became a problem?

Well after all you are violating emissions laws. Fines depend on your charm and what kind of mood the lawman will be in.

Hell, putting a downloader on the truck is breaking emissions laws. Most of these aftermarket mufflers don't comply with noise ordinances.Lots of people remove them just want to know how many of these people have been busted and what the fines were.

My truck came from the factory without a cat. Here in NC our trucks do not go through emissions inspections.
