It goes only by the GVWR on the door jam. When I had my F-350 DRW NO inspection, Just had to go with my new/old '01 2500 had to go through inspection. It doesn't matter what your registered for. Plain & Simple

ok just another thing to back up my inital statement from the beginning.

I was down by New egypt (Couple towns over from my hometown) and i got stoped for no inpection.

Cop asked me if it was a diesel and i said yes.

Asked me what i was registered for and told him 10100 and showed him the card.

Cop said thank you and have a nice day.

And thats it. So the law is real its just who knows about it and who doesnt

Everytime that I went they don't even ask for your registration they just come up to the truck and open the door to look at the GVWR. If you have a DRW they say you don't have to be inspected if you have a 3/4 ton your going in then they ask for paperwork! This was at Eatontown and Freehold.

Went to MVC today. There was no place on the registration form to put the GVWR. So at the counter the girl says how much are you carrying? I said, "huh?" She said I need to specify how much I'm carrying, she says the cheapest is 5000 pounds. I say ok. Big mistake.

Now the registration card actually says GW 5000. and EQ 5000.

It was 75 bucks.

I gotta go back and get it changed. I should have just said 10,500. Dang it!
