So I got pulled over the other day and before the cop knew I knew all of his bosses he ripped me apart of the self inspection law... there right you can legally get a ticket for doing it

#1 DMV is a seperate deal from NJ state Law, so it really doesnt matter what DMV says. #2 Your GVW on your door tag is what the truck is suppose to be registered at, whatever it rolls off the showroom is what its suppose to be #3 Technically your suppose self inspect your vehichle before you drive it every single time cuz on big rigs technically you are suppose to, then you wide tires and tint etc. you wouldnt drive it cuz you wouldn't pass yourself. Im not fighting anyone here but technically there right

This is handy, my brother is at the point now where he wanted to just up his truck to 10,001 and skip inspection, but I have been warning him against it. What did you get pulled over for? How bad was the ticket?

I have also been informed previously that you can not register your truck for more than the weight listed on the door without taking the truck to a certified truck shop and getting updated tags made.
