Hey y'all
I just increased my GVW to 10001, got a new registration, no inspection sticker, and im now self-inspect. (Knock on wood haha) its been about a month now of having no sticker on my truck, passed a whole bunch of smokeys and havent had a problem yet....(KNOCK KNOCK on wood) haha. Anyone in or near Sparta wants to see what ive done to the truck, let me know and we could meet up.

How much did that cost? I saw someone a few posts ago say about $200. I am thinking about doing it to my 3500 when I have to renew mine.

Well I never posted up how my case went but I lost. The pros. Told me right to my face and the whole court room that I was totally wrong. Even with the paper work I had signed by inspection station and that he would never trust me inspecting my own vehicle or working on it and asked me if I even had a license and knew how to drive. I bite my tounge and held back my fist from his face. I said what ever and ate the 130$ ticket. Still don't have a sticker and never plan on getting one. Bunch of bs. O n that's in Jackson,nj too. Just to lt yall know.

What do you mean, he said you were wrong? Wrong about the law? Or, wrong because technically our trucks do not quite have a GVWR of 10,000+?

I think the law is pretty clear. N.J.A.C. chapter 13 subchapter 26.

You could appeal it if you want. Show a list of your 'inspections' as stated in the code and they have nothing to say. Probably not worth it though.

I'm beginning to think actual GVWR doesn't matter either, because it says "registered as" not "has a sticker that says" GVWR 10,000+

Food for thought...
