What ive heard was that you can have stacks on pickups, but i think its going to be in 09 or 10 your gonna have to have heat shields on them. Which is the dumbest thing. Im not positive on the year that will come into effect, but for now, i say do them, cuz im trying to get some money off the boss so i can put duel 5" with the mitre cuts on my ram.

yea ive had mine on for a few months now and havent had any problems with the law. im just asking cause i had to go for inspection today. they didnt even look at the exhaust. however, i still failed for the second time for my brakes. after the first time i failed, i spent a grand to get them fixed. however i still failed the second time. time to find a private shop. a new private shop. my mechanic told me today that he couldnt inspect my truck cause i told him yesterday i wanted just an inspection instead of specifying and saying re-inspection. pure BS to me. and he also said he couldnt do it cause i have a leveling kit on it. according to him he cant touch lifted vehicles at all and its an illegal lift. however in the NJ guidelines, any vehicle lifted OVER 3 inches from STOCK, needs a tip test. but mine isnt close to that. he also claimed he couldnt do it cause he didnt know what brake work i had done. i pointed to all the shiny new parts and he still wouldnt belive me. i was so pissed. HUGE FAIL on my part. not a good day. however im racin tonight so im excited

I know 2 guys that have registered their trucks @ 10k so they qualify for "self-inspect". Might be worth looking into.

Make that 3
I register heavy just because its easier. I believe they are doing away with self inspect though in the next few years.

Move to SC we don't have any inspections here.

I'm originally from Somerset, don't miss The Peoples Republic of Jersey at all.

Yep There's a guy in Boonton with them too. Is that who you are talking about? His Dad used to work for a Dealer.

I'm in Dover. Wednesday night Wendys Cruse-in. Stop in. I'll either have my truck or my car. 6 to 9 PM. I'll see ya. I'm one of the officials
