Performance Mods for 1999 bone stock......

Can anyone give me some recommendations on what brand and model perfromance chip upgrades they have installed on their diesels? I have no knowledge about them.

I just got an absolutley stock 1999 3500 with 91000. It has the 3.whatever gears.

I would like more power when towing and better fuel economy when not towing. I'm not interested in going faster on the top speed- just more power. I think more power & torque on the lower end or mid range would be beneficial without sacrificing the existing top end.
Most importantly I do not want to reduce the life of the truck.
If anyone has any experience on the Perfromance chips I would very much appreciate any guidance. What you put on and if your happy or not. What additional mods you had to do to keep up with the extra power. How the truck acted and lasted. Anything would be appreciated.

THANKS!

edge comp is probably the best general "box"...not the highest hp or most aggressive, but very good nonetheless (especially with a drag update). an ez can be had for cheap...the problem becomes the transmission.

you have the auto? it's model # 47re with 4 speeds and lockup. they are a very mushy/shlushy feeling transmission from the factory and it hard to tell when it shifts for some people.

btw, where in NH are you from?

It also doubles as a code reader and adjusts speedo for bigger tires(if you get any) seeing as its stock...
