Electric Fans in a CTD??

Does anyone have electric fans in their CTD? I'm curious how the cooling is and how well they work. I know that our regular fans are designed to not only suck air through the radiator and charge cooler, but also blow on the engine keeping heat away from our electronics. Just curious if an electric fan can provide enought CFM to do the job.

Semper Fi,
Fletch

They make some nice fans for our setup, and are supposed to work great. I think they're a little spendy, but you loose all the parasitic drag from our stock fans which would be nice. Farmboy Diesel on here knows and can get you some. I think when I checked they were around $400, for duals.

Also gives you alot more room up front too.

Flex-A-Lite has a set available for the 2nd gen trucks, but nothing for the 3rd gens yet. I am still waiting on an answer as to when it will be available.

AS for cooling, some say they won't flow enough, I think they would do fine. The 2nd gen version flows like 6200cfm. Thats alot of air. I would think it should cool just fine, unless you are hauling a backhoe up a 7% grade in August or something.

Most of the electric fans that I've seen require you to remove your factory fan. I want an electric fan to push air through to supplement the factory fan. If anyone knows of such a thing, let me know.
