Help me plan For IRP ...

First thing What days will I need off ??? when you leaving for IRP and when your leaveing for hoime ??

What Hotel ??

Who am I going to meet there ?

Where is the meet up ?

Ill get a expedia deal on a room ............ if I can ... I did for SDX......

Will this be your first IRP/Muncie event?

If so, man are you gonna kick yourself for not going sooner.

I will arrive Friday and set-up. We will stay in Mike's 5th wheel at the track again, but it was dead there last year after the event was over. So i am planning on heading to the hotel friday night to see the fun. If like last year, I will be too tired after Saturday or Sunday to go anywhere.

I plan on arriving late Friday afternoon, I expect to have the "camping" at the track again for a "hospitality center" and rest spot during the event, and also heading over the the hotel for the evening activity. I may even book a room....A/C is nice!

If it's like last year, Qualilfying is Saturday and the Eliminations are Sunday. I head home Monday.

I slid out early evening on Sunday last year, missing the tail end of the pulling. Leaving Monday morning, after the traffic clears is a good plan

The DHRA Diesel Nationals, formerly known as "Thunder In Muncie", currently referred to as "IRP" will be held on June 24th and 25th this year.

The Diesel Nationals, Indiana takes place at Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP) in Indianapolis, Indiana, over the weekend of June 24 and 25, 2006.

The event is organized and operated by DHRA, Inc.

The event was born as Thunder in Muncie in June of 2000 at Dave's Diesel, in Muncie, and moved to the Gaston Lions Club Fairgrounds and the Muncie Dragway. Having grown too large for the local venues, we moved it to IRP in 2005.

In 2004, there were 1200 trucks at TiM, with almost 800 participating in the Show-n-Shine, Pulls, Dyno and Drags.

Activities for the Nationals are not limited to the IRP facilities. Many of the participants have started festivities on Friday and continued off-site parties late into the night, on Saturday, and at the campgrounds and area hotels. We anticipate many arrivals beginning festivities on Thursday.

As plans for this year's event develop we will be posting new information. Please check back often to stay current.

A note of caution: the Diesel Nationals, Indiana, is a grand, festive weekend in addition to being a diesel competition event. A certain amount of exuberance is expected, even encouraged, but do remember that safety at IRP is paramount. Also, not all of IRP's neighbors are so tolerant; so please remember to temper your exuberance when you leave the IRP facilities.

Meet friday at 9 AM,eat breakfast @ dennys ( see TDR post Ohio convoy to IRP) We get there about 1:30 PM and relax for a spell then its off for some shannagins! Pulls / Races on Saturday. Head Home Sunday.

Looking at my work schedule .....

JUNE - 23,24,25 Off already thats my weekend off .....

Suppose to be Working Nights on the 21,22 and back to days on 26,27

So hummm.....

Ill have to take the 26th and 27th off ,,,,, That will give me the 23-29 off work

Looks like Ill have to get some sort of power nap .... Thursday after work .... ill get home @ 6am Fri morning sleep till NOON ??? then take off for Indy it took me 5 hrs to get to SDX should only be 4 for IRP ???

Sounds like a Plan ?? Looks like I need to take off the 26 & 27 ..... we have to take 2 days in a row or we could still get wrote in to work the weekend ....
