RE: my 1999 dodge 3500 dually, lost lift pump and fried injector pump outside of Joplin on trip to texas.. dodge dealer in joplin replaced with the lift pump now located in tank.. question: what should pressure be between filter and injector pump.. mine shows about 9 lbs at idle.. shop manual for 99 dodge shows 10 lbs.. with lift pump on the block... thanks for any help ..reddodge kyle7272 |

it should be the same as a lift pump on the block. but the pump in the tank is just as bad to fail as the ones on the block. If you plan on keepn the truck, id upgrade the fuel system. Thats the only thing bad about the vp trucks. Loose pressure, loose your Inject pump ![]()

true...look into an Airdog setup...they have a lifetime warrenty now too ![]() I love mine

Yea once you loose pressure to the Injector pump, its dead

I had intermitent pressure to mine when i installed my gauges...so i parked it and orderd up my Airdog and she's doing ok so far.

The spec calls for 10PSI, regardless of what lift pump you have. In your case, I'd be wiling to bet the pressure is dropping when you mat it. I'd get an Airdog or FASS system and a fuel pressure gauge ASAP. FASS makes a reasonably priced pump only kit that works nice.
