Found this post of all you guys from MS. I grew up in Picayune, MS until I was 19, then for some dumb reason (work) I moved to Ohio. In the late 70's early 80's we drag raced all over PRC. Went back after the storm and I couldn't believe the damage. Also how much the area grew from the time I moved, which was 1986. I'll be back some day, miss the weather.

Believe me you dont want to move back the price of housing is out of this world, for example I bought my house in hide away 4yrs ago for 70k I can sell it for up to 155k now. the traffic is worse than slidell now it takes 20-25 min to get from hawl to walmart on the other side of town...

Yea, when I was back a couple years ago I did hate the traffic. I have a close friend Dale West that owns C&D scrap yard out on 43 north by wheats curve. I came down and helped him on his house after the storm. I wouldn't move back to Picayune but in the area somewhat. Not sure how old you are but when I lived there we lived in one of the best areas of Picayune at that time but now it's pretty bad area I guess, Pondarose Subdivsion on Nina Dr. Most of the people was still polite when I was back. Up here people just seem like their made at the world alot off the time.
