Charles - you rebuild them too or just install them ?

I'm ready to rebuild my 47RH and install it in my '93. I've just never dug into a trans. and don't want to start with my DD.

I picked up a '94 that I want to go through. I've got some of the critical parts like :
Alto clutches & steels, Steel OD sun gear, Alto Intermediate shaft, Heavy duty bands, etc...~ $900 worth
Nothing exotic, this is not going to be a drag truck, but I will be doing some towing and I've already turned up my ip plus other mild mods.

One thing - it came with a 4x4 tailshaft so the existing one will have to be swapped over. I've got the '94 engine adapter plate and starter and some other odds end ends.

I'm looking to learn - and work on - the tranny. More important I'm looking to get a good job at a low cost. It took me 5 mos to get these pieces together. Being retired sucks!

This pro99 guy is a rip-off. He rips himself off every time he does something for a customer. Talk about a cheap date, sheesh he's gotta learn to draw the line somewhere.

He's an excellent source of information, knowlege, and workmanship. He's got my vote hands down, as well as ALOT more guys on this board.

Did your HTS deal come through for ya ?

That's what I've heard, but that's not why I'd like him to work on my tranny...
I'd rather pay someone I know - even a little -- than someone I don't. And I'd rather pay someone like Charles and let him put it in his pocket instead of paying a shop that will pass on 20 - 30 % of what I'm being charged...
A good mechanic is what keeps most shops in business and very few shops realize it's their help making them money...

OK - I'll get off my soapbox.

Charles - if you've got some time PM me - I figure this is a day project for someone who know what they're doing. But I'd have to take a week myself and still get it wrong.

Speaking from experience, i know what it's like being an underpaid, over worked tech.

Chaz starts on something and doesn't finish 'til he's got a cold one in his hand. I mean 'til the customer is happy.

Trans swaps shouldnt be a hard job. Just a couple of floor jacks, 2 people and 2 hours time with air tools. Well, thats how long it took me to drop my 32rh outta my wrangler to jb weld up that dang vent hole behind the TC.
