HTS transmissions

Hey guys, It turns out i might be able to get a HTS Ultimate duty trans with billit input shaft upgrade and their billit triple lock convertor. I would be trading my boss plow setup for it. Do they build a good reliable trans? How much power do you think this thing will hold?

Also, this transmission was in a 99 4x4 CTD, mine is a 98 12 valve 4x4.....will this trans work in my truck? if not what could i do to make it work?

The plow came with my truck and i was selling it to get a trans, so this would be a great oppurtunity for me. I would have HTS go through it to make sure its ready to go, but the guy said hes only had it for less than a year before he crashed his truck.

HTS makes some awesome transmissions. The torque converter will be a Suncoast. The transmission should work in your truck. I am not aware of the differences. Call HTS, Dusty will know.
If you are at all questioning the tranny call HTS. They will answer any questions.
If you don't need the plow that is a great trade.
I have his valve body in my 94. Talked on the phone with Dusty a couple times and he has been very helpful.

Well i believe that all of the transmissions have computers to control them, otherwise how do you put a lockup switch in a 12 valve for the torque convertor?

I am going to call HTS and just make sure exactly what is done to this trans, and have them take a look at it before i make a deal. What is a transfer case worth?

A little wiring differences. Mostly valve body and solenoids.
If you are going to have HTS go through it anyway. Just tell them what you are doing. The two transmissions are essentially the same.

Sounds good. I was origionally going to go with a trans built by Coaltrain, and still might if this deal falls through, but i cant pass this up. I want a built trans REAL bad. Im not too worried about a used trans as long as the guys from HTS go through it for me before i make the final deal.

Alright cool, thats what i thought but i just wanted to check in with you guys, I really appreciate the help.

Any idea as to what this trans should hold? He told me it has no more than 30k on it, and has had it for about a year. I figure if they go through the trans before i put it in my truck i should be good to go for awhile....

its a freakin awesome transmission. Mine is holding up to dyno runs, sled pulling, and drag racing with an HTS race build. It competed this weekend in the J&H nor cal rally and did all events without a hiccup. I had absolutely no tranny issues, no over heating, nothing. And thats running a respectable fuel only dyno in 101*F heat and the trans didnt get passed 170*F and running the drag @ around 90-95*F, and launch in 4X4 at 20+psi SMOKIN all 4 tires through the 60'. Awesome trans.
