I've gotten 2. BUT when I showed up in court, and insisted the officer show up also, then showed the judge my truck passed my state inspection - he gave the officer a dirty look and threw out the ticket.

I beat the officer out and left before he could get into his car and catch me on something else.

The original poster lives in Michigan and is complaining about a ticket that he recieved in MICHIGAN. Therefore, he KNEW he was breaking the law, and is complaining about it. Your case is different, that's why the judge threw it out. I get sick and tired of seeing/hearing people complain/wine/moan about getting caught breaking the law, when they KNEW they were breaking the law. It's like the people who complain/wine/moan about the price of fuel and then speed everywhere they go, which makes their fuel mileage fall through the floor. Sure, it sucks that everyone is getting tickets and having to pay an arm and a leg for fuel, but that's the way it is. And like I said before, you've got two choices. 1: Keep doing what you're doing, possibly get caught and pay for it. or B: Abide by the law and never have to worry about it again.

You know, there are some laws out there that are just so dumb it should be a crime that they were made a law in the first place.

i see why they have the tint law though. just think if you were a cop, it was late at night and you pulled someone over and when you walked up to the car they left there window up and it was tinted, how would you know if they had a gun or not, plus with the tinted windows the cops cant see in to see what else you are hiding from them.
yes i have 5% tint all the way around my truck, yes i know it ia illegal, and yes i will pay the fine when i get pulled over for it, but one thing is i always roll down my window before the cop even gets out of his car.

Someone finally got it right. It's NOT about the money. It's about the safety of the officer!!! The money just happens to be a side effect. I know that none of you guys will probably never give an officer a reason to fear for his life. You are the good guys. It's the ones that wish to do harm to people that the officers have to worry about and some of the time they "hide" behind deeply tinted windows. That is the reason for the law. And it is the law whether or not you think it is stupid, it's still the law.

This is true also and there are so many jacked out of shape laws for criminals to get away with stuff still. I believe an eye for an eye and tooth for tooth. Get rid of the tree huggers and then the lawyers that just want to make money even if its not right! So who's there for the good guy that the cop takes out a bad day on?
