Well Cody I joined your club today with the almont cops. I had the same thing happen to me today but he tried to tell my GVW was 4400lbs after measuring my bumper and being 2'' over at that wieght. I tought about it and walked over to look at the sticker on my door and he read it wrong and showed him the 9000lb right next to the 4400kg so he agreed and only gave me a ticket for my tint. I have had all of my trucks windows tinted and have had this truck for almost 4 years I know they have seen my truck before even though it sits in the garage most of the time but never had a problem in 16 years and lived in almont my whole life. I dont know what the deal is but someone has something out for the trucks.

Sounds like the guy that gave me the "stink eye" back when I had my old 05 on 37's.

I think that he hangs out at that big gas station north of town just before I-69. I go through there alot on my way up north.

I bet the guy you're talking about is a retired copper from another department that hired into Almont part time. I'm willing to be that he was a weighmaster for that other department and is using his knowledge and training in Almont now. If you were a weighmaster all your career and all you did was screw with trucks, old habits are hard to break. He's probably flexing a little muscle. On the other hand he could just be close to retirement and pissed off at the world.

As for the tinted windows, I love how they look, but you take your chance when you get it done. It's an officer safety thing. Put yourself in their shoes when they walk up on a vehicle that they can't see in. Makes you a little uneasy. Specially with all the officers getting shot these days.

Feel bad for you that you had to run into Mr. Grump A$$, but that happens. I've been doing the job for 11 years now and I went from the county with 960 square mile to a small PD that has 2 square mile. I spend my time looking for the $hit not screwing with guys and their lifted trucks. Some how you need to start BSin with this guy when you see him in town. Become friends. I hate to say it, the easiest way to make friends is pick up their tab at the restaurant when their eating. That's happened to me a couple of times and you tend to remember those people.

Good luck to you Bud, and if you feel the need to race around with tinted windows and blow black smoke in your lifted truck then look me up. You can do it all day in my city!

When I was young I used to get pulled over alot. My Dad thought me to treat the badge with respect! Most cops will give it back! But some are just mad at the world. You learn what towns are known for what. Like Imaly City never do than a couple of MPH over.
