I have a 04.5 6bt 600 5.9 When the engine warms up it shakes pretty much most of the time (sometimes it doesn't do it) at idle. I took it to a local Cummins Diesel Mech and had them do an injector test on it. He had it narrowed down to the number 5 cylinder by shutting off one injector at a time. When he popped the hood and pulled the oil cap off steam came bellowing out. He told me that he thought that it was the bad compression on the number 5 and that a complete rebuild would be needed. Would a cylinder that lost its compression cause the truck to shake every time at idle? Or would that mean it could be the injector since it comes and goes?
