Houma, LA here
I just purchased an 06 2500 Mega Cab. Been wanting a Diesel to put some go fast parts on, but wasn't going to get one because of the cost of fuel. Then I went to replace my car with another high mileage car and they wanted $3000 over retail for an 06 Accord, so I figured I'd get rid of the car and truck and get what I really wanted while I could get a sweet deal. Found my truck for $18900, I figured it's around $42,000 for a new one. I'm not a big brand loyal guy, my first choice was actually a Duramax because of the extra power and 6 spd auto, but since I wanted to soup it up and convert it to WVO I went with the ultra reliable Cummins. I'm getting rid a 99 F150 and 98 Pontiac Sunfire if any of you might be looking. $1800 and $4500 repectfully. Well any advice from you knowlegdable folks would be greatly apprecieted. |

Oh, my first question, to change the injectors in the 06 Cummins, do you have to pull the heads, or are the the easy to change style. They say converting to WVO, you can expect to change your injectors after 100-125K miles. Good deal compared to how much money you save. I've done some mechnic work on gas burners outside of the newer all electronic engines, but all I know about Diesels is from text books instead of hands on. I want to add just about anything to the truck that saves fuel mileage and adds power. Anything that just adds power, or just adds mileage I probably won't mess with. |

OK, that's a TC and VB, I know the science of how a diesel works, but not much about the add on parts. Thank you for all of your replies.
