Well,

I'm being laid off due to budget cuts. Within the next 4 weeks most likely. Its unexpected and I'm not ready for it. So if anyone has any leads I would be very appreciative. I'm open to just about whatever

I have a Bachelor of Science in Foresty, Structural and Wildland Firefighting Training,4 yrs experience as a forester (private and government) , 6 yrs construction experience, 5 yrs of lumberyard experience (everything from sweeping floor to running the joint), and can handle a wrench but only have a mininal tool set. Good with computers , GPS, GIS, etc.

Who were you working for before? With GIS experience I'd say try the USGS or NRCS. They may only have hourly jobs but if you find the right area they may have appointments open up. Either that or find a crop consultant firm in your area that is mapping out fields or doing GIS stuff.
