Any Ft. Riley area hunters???
Since I'm new to Kansas from Florida, I am VERY excited about hunting this year here!!! The problem is I am used to hunting on leased property but never on public land. Not to mention I know nothing about the area. I have a co worker that has about 1000 ac outside Junction City to hunt which I am sure will be promising but he doesn't hunt early season(muzzleloader) but just the december season because he likes to hang his meat fo about 5 days and doesn't have a cooler to do it in. Me , I would just take it to a processor. Anyone hunt public property or even Ft. Riley that would want to show me around or take on a hunting buddy?

1000 acres of private and you're thinking of passing it up?? I'd jump on that in a heartbeat.

Oh, I'm not passing up the 1000 ac. My guy idea of hunting involves more sitting in a chair than scouting and such. He cleans his own but likes to hang it for 5 days. Since he doesnt have his own cooler he doesn't hunt muzzleloader season(early) as I will. I just found out I can do as I want on the property so I should be hunting muzzleloader. Still need the Kansas class though.
