Any Ft. Riley area hunters???

Since I'm new to Kansas from Florida, I am VERY excited about hunting this year here!!! The problem is I am used to hunting on leased property but never on public land. Not to mention I know nothing about the area.
I have a co worker that has about 1000 ac outside Junction City to hunt which I am sure will be promising but he doesn't hunt early season(muzzleloader) but just the december season because he likes to hang his meat fo about 5 days and doesn't have a cooler to do it in. Me , I would just take it to a processor.

Anyone hunt public property or even Ft. Riley that would want to show me around or take on a hunting buddy?

1000 acres of private and you're thinking of passing it up?? I'd jump on that in a heartbeat.

Ya, I'd hunt the private over Ft.Riley or public since they are heavily overused. I'd take you but I only hunt birds these days. When you wanna fluff some feathers lemme know.

Everyone tries to get in FT Riley for hunting. My neighbor wanted me to get him in, told him he was better off outside the post.

Oh, I'm not passing up the 1000 ac. My guy idea of hunting involves more sitting in a chair than scouting and such. He cleans his own but likes to hang it for 5 days. Since he doesnt have his own cooler he doesn't hunt muzzleloader season(early) as I will. I just found out I can do as I want on the property so I should be hunting muzzleloader. Still need the Kansas class though.
