CANCELLED - OFFICIAL Wichita Dyno Day Thread

OK... I finally got a hold of Chris with Wichita Dyno to get things set up...

Date: Saturday, July 19th
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Cost: $70 for 3 runs...
Dyno: Dyno Dynamics
Website: Wichita Dyno
Address: 1851 S. Hoover Road

Other:
If you have a dually you will need to remove your outside wheel as it won't fit on his dyno.

Chris will operate all trucks. That's just his policy... you are welcome to ride shotgun and change levels or give advice on how your truck 'drives'.

No major changes to the trucks while on the dyno... i.e., no turbo swaps, no injector swaps... mainly this is for the gasser crowd who might try and write an entire fuel map on a laptop... he said if it's a plug and play(TST, Edge J/A, Adrenaline or similar) and you want to change levels that's not a problem... if you want to load a new Smarty software I'd say that's pushing the limits.

He doesn't have a lot of experience with diesels so this might be a bit of a learning experience for him.

What you need to do is make a firm decision on whether or not you will be able to attend, participate, spectate, etc... we need at least 6 trucks to spin the rollers but I'd prefer 8-15 trucks to make it a real good show... he said 15 is about the max he can do in a day... did 18 in 8.5 hours but would prefer to not try that again.

Someone want to volunteer a grill??? or to film it??

As it gets closer to the date, we can firm the details up but the time, date and location have been set, now we need some trucks...

essentially... I just hope my head is back on by this time...

we may also be swapping in a new bottom turbo once I hear back from BD.

Who all else is in for this?? really need to have at least 6 or 7 trucks to make it worth Chris' time.

I will run the stocker just to help out with the numbers. I don't even need 3 runs as it shouldn't change much. LOL. I can also bring the DSLR for good quality pictures. I might be able to score a decent grill. Who wants to bring the burgers and such??

My family is in town that weekend so Im in, but only for limited time slots.

I realize that Chris will drive the trucks, but what liability does he take if he is driving the truck and it breaks. Sign a waiver and hope for the best?

Yeah, I thought about that... I'll give him a call next week and ask about that.

Is there a particular time you'd be able to get on the rollers??

You can count me in....what did you find out about the liability part? I'm not too worried about it, but I would like to know going into it where we stand.

Sorry guys, been away from 'civilization' for a few days... I'll call Chris tomorrow about the liability he takes, if any.... but if it's just 4 trucks, I think it's best if we try and reschedule. I'll see what Chris says about it though.

I'm ok with it if we need to re-schedule....summer is plenty busy.

I talked with Chris this morning and he agreed that if it's just 4 trucks that it's really not worth anyone's time so we will reschedule. So, the dyno day is now on hold again. I'll send PM's out when I get home from work today.

I also asked about the liability issue and he said he has a waiver form to complete that absolves him and the shop of any liability in the event of a vehicle issue....
