Howdy from Colorado!

Hello everyone,
Thought I'd pop in and introduce myself. I don't actually have my truck yet. I'm headed to Denver to pick it up this morning from the dealer. I'm picking up a 1999 Ram 2500 Club Cab SB 4x4. The chassis has 109k on the clock. The dealership says the motor was replaced my Rocky Mountain Cummins at 102k. Apparently, some of these trucks had issues with the water jacket, and Cummins just replaced the motor under warranty. Is this really true? There is ALOT of documentation on the problem included with the truck. There is also an invoice with the truck from Rocky Mountain Cummins indicating they did in fact replace the motor. So in a sense, I don't care why it was replaced, its only got 7,000 miles on it!!!

Anyway, I'm excited to get the truck. It is replacing my 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX as my daily driver. The wife and I constantly have a need for a pick-up, and I need something to tow my trail rig around the Rockies (trail rig is a '62 IH Scout).

More about me......*ahem*
"Sooner born and Sooner bred, my Sooner blood runs Sooner red!!!!"

I grew up in Oklahoma. Currently living in Eagle, Colorado. I work in emergency services in Eagle County, Colorado. My wife, off roading, fishing, camping and bbq'ing occupy my time off. If you're ever up this way, shoot me a holler.

Glad to have you! About the recall, i'm not sure on that, its the first i have heard. Somebody should chime in about that though. With only 7,000 miles that truck will last forever. You will learn a lot from this forum, I know i did.

Thanks for the welcome! I actually found the article the dealership had here in the forums, right after I posted. Not so much of a recall. More of a, "dang, we have a problem. We should probably fix it." Cummins reserved the right to make it a short block or long block exchange. I read over the invoice from Rocky Mountain Cummins and I'm almost positive it was a long block exchange. I suppose I'll find out this morning. In any event, it doesn't really matter. It's still a new engine.
