$20 entry fee. Additional $20 for pit passes. Illini State Puller rules apply.

Diesel Stock 4x4 Rules:
1. Weight will be announced at Pull
2. Truck must be street legal, licensed and insured.
3. Must have stock fuel system.
4. Must have cast iron engine block and heads, headers and aluminum intakes allowed. Must have closed exhaust system.
5. Must have stock suspension, blocked axles allowed.
6. High point of hitch can not exceed 26 inches.
7. No hanging front end weight. Weights must be in the bed of the truck or tightly secured.
8. Must have D.O.T. tires, no cut tires or duals.
9. No Nitrous Oxide. No propane.
10. Seal belts are required and must be worn during pull. NO RIDERS.
11. Drivers must be 16 years old. 16 and 17 year olds must have signed parental consent.
On the 27th (which I am guessing everyone is coming to:THREAT: ), here are the general rules.

General Rules:
1. $20 entry fee
2. Safety is our FIRST priority. No riders or reckless drivers.
3. Drivers MUST be at least 16 years of age. Those under 18 years of age must have written parental/guardian consent
4. ISP rules apply. PDF file here 2006 Rules
5. All trucks must be on the grounds and registered by 5pm- NO EXCEPTIONS
6. All entries can enter after 1:30pm- Quiet please.
7. All entries to enter the NE gate off of RT 30
8. Only vehicles hauling or participating will be allowed in pit area to eliminate congestion. Please cooperate!
9. Pit passes ($20 per PERSON) available at gate near horse barn.
10. Harassment of officials will be grounds for disqualification.

These are the rules for the night of the 27th. This is by the Illini State Pullers & Lee County Fair Association.

Now on the 26th (Thursday) is the Farm tractor Pull & Lee County truck Pull. Says Lee County only?

Class E is Stock Diesel Truck, Show room Stock. Premiums are 1st: $155, 2nd: $130, 3rd: $105, 4th: $80, 5th: $55

Class F: Semi Pulls

Now, on the rules for the 26th, it says "14. Any Pullers with alcoholic beverages will be disqualifed and will forfeit entry fees and any premiums won."

BUT on the 27th Pull rules it says nothing about it. I am guessing, just to be safe, no alcohol is allowed.

HTH,

Jon

Map:

Map of 1196 Franklin Rd Amboy, IL by MapQuest

If you move the map left, to the East, you can find the 39/51 highway. Then go a little north and then you can find I-88. I am about 3 miles north at my parents farm.

Hope to see ya's there

They both start at 6pm and go till

2 or 3 years ago they decided to do a open regristation, no need to be there and signed up at a certain time, and they were turning people away at 3am. Last year they lasted till about 10:30pm.

Also, around Amboy, are 2 campgrounds. A Yogi Bear, and Woodhaven Lakes. I will get more info soon on that. I am house sitting for friends and I just have dial-up

HTH,

Jon

Bump...

I am sorry guys but I cant pull as of right now I am going on vacation the week before to MN to my cuz's wedding. She asked me to be a Usher :THREAT:

Now I am hearing noises from my bell housing. I needed a new clutch any way but I don't think I can pull off pulling, replacing new clutch, and still have money to get to work for the next week.

I also need new tires. My 2 rears are almost bald, did a rotate on'em this morning. Stupid Walmart:THREAT: The tires I want are 285/70/R16 with Eagle 058, $950, including labor and all the extra chrome caps and lugnuts.:fist:

MY dilema, tires or clutch. Either way

That is one tough choice-----

Well, have a good time at the wedding. Try not to usher all the good looking girls into one section.

The little woman might

Keep us informed when you do go-------

I went to night and will go tomorrow.

Pulled twice as I picked the first slot. My first pull I went 190.8 feet. The second I pulled 192.8 Not bad for a stock clutch and road tires. WOOHOO! I need a new clutch setup, tires and weight! I weighed at 6190# with 3/4 tank of diesel. The clutch might be a little worn now. I slipped it pretty good the first time. I put'er in 4lo 2nd gear. The first time I gave it about half throttle (1700-1900 rpm's. I do not have a tach) and slowly let'er out. Whew! She didn't smoke but sure did smell. I was surpirsed how fast the truck slowed down. It felt like I hit a wall. The second time I lowered the front tire pressure (the tires are almost bald) and gave it about 1200-1500 rpm's but I did a different technique. When I pulled a buddy of mine out, I slowly let out the clutch until I felt it tighten up, then I dumped it. I did the same with the sled. The truck almost died! It rattled and shook bad enough I had my foot on the clutch about ready to push'er in. The n she caught and started down the track. It felt like the tires were hooked to the ground and I was moving in slow motion. Then I heard my turbo spool and then I knew why I was moving slow. I didn't spool the turbo before the second pull. I actually heard my turbo spool to life louder than ever before. So as I was driving home talking to my bro's who went with me, they said that a 24v Cummins with stacks blacked out the Mechanical Mule sled. My smoke went straight up and over the sled until the turbo spooled. What was funny though was the announcer. He said, "Now here is Jon back for his second and final pull. Here he goes! There's the smoke coming. Wait for the charger, just wait. There it is folk's, look at him pull. That charger pumps in alot of power to that Cummins diesel."

I am hooked, can't ya tell?

Jon
