Well Waynes World I meant no disrespect. I mentioned it in thoughts that you wise seasoned drivers wouldn't mind the 20 year old whippersnapper tagging along. Now I'm the ones whose laughing hysterically. But if you guys decide on a date in August just post it up. After mapquesting it seems that you are only about an hour and a half away from me so that's no problem at all. But like any college student I am broke beyond belief but my tranny is at 170k and will need replacing soon so when I upgrade that it will be to something that handle a couple extra ponies so I can get a programmer then maybe youll have to look through your side window to see my headlights rather than the rear view. But I am thrilled with the truck after changing from a 6.0 gm gasser so for now I am just playing and trying to save some cash for future upgrades. Now it's oil change time but I look forward to seeing you all as well.

any meets or gtg's in the Chicagoland area??

VikingDiesel,

Where were you last friday night?????

I don't have a truck to race but I went along for moral support.

Check out the next race, I think its on a saturday, let us know!!!

PSYCHOFREAK3,

You know we still want to have fun with you no matter how your truck performs.
Plus , I never take any offense since your are now my brother trucker.
Its not about anything but having a good time.
So bring that truck over to anywhere we are or to my house for some work if you need it. Talk to some of the others about that gear masher of a trans you have. I use one of the auto's for my trips down the road.
How do you do your oil changes/
Do you use synthetic?
Do you change your fuel filter, & write a date on it, as well ?
Have you checked your fuel pressure lately?
What kind of guages are you going to get?
Keep checking the adds for useful parts. Or ask for some that you need.

Have you checked out my polishing of aluminum wheels yet?
I'm getting a new toy to do them better. Interested?

How are your side gaskets?
Check your breather for blowby.
Keep asking questions, That is what we are here for.
Don't ever be shy about any question you have.
By the way, send trk396 a pm for some info on our crew, he's our leader.
Or get a hold of me at ---wanga8@comcast.net.

Can't wait to see your truck,
Wayne

I am actually working on my first oil change with my truck. I am aslo going to change the fuel filter and I am working on gauges as well. I just got set back because the johnson that I got the truck from had a bedrug in it and after taking it out I found a ton of rust so I had to get the truck bedlined. Where would I check my breather for blowby? But thanks for all of the info and I am hopfully going to get everything done so I can start actually having fun with my truck and practicing those fun burnouts that I see in all of these videos.

Wink any meets or gtg's in the Chicagoland area??

PSYCHOFREAK3,
You can start by checking the side cover for drips or leaks, on the drivers side of the block.

Then I would get a fuel pressure gauge to keep tabs on the lift pump,
That is where it could get expensive.

The bed rust, any plans to clean it up?
Maybe a good scrubbing then some kind of chassis saver paint, followed by a good coating of bedliner. You could do it or have it done, my choice.

Burnouts are the most fun we can have with our trucks!
Unless you haven't baptized the front seat with the better half yet---

We are here for you when you need us.

Well I have gauges on the way and the truck is bedlined. Next check comes the oil change and if I can afford it changing the fuel pump. But I might be getting in touch with someone to help out with installing the gauges when they come in if I am a little too retarted to figure them out myself lol.

They are not too bad to do! my maiden voyage was pyro and boost on the '00! took a buddy and me 4 hours from start to finish! but most of that was drilling & tappin the exhaust manifold & drilling and tapping the horn for the boost guage! (just the spot we chose! as option number 1)

hell we could make your guages a good wrench day opportunity! speaking of which.... September sounds likea good month to get one put together! just not the weekend of the 15th! (1st aniversary on the 14th and a rodeo on the 15th!)

let us know if ya have ?'s! we are here to help!

Josh the last few emails I sent you got shot back to me...?

And please tell me you removed your intake horn before drilling and tapping.... or at least removed the hose below it and made sure you got all the shavings out.

Talking any meets or gtg's in the Chicagoland area??

PSYCHOFREAK3,

The fun is starting, I can't wait to lend my good hand if you need it.

You could ask for a work get together with some of the guys here to help advise you. Do you have a barrel for the old oil?
Guys, fill him in on pusher pumps options.

I'm a 12v guy but they aren't that much different. You buy the diet pop & we'll talk.

Maybe by then, I'll have the old girl back together again.

Scheids extravaganza is 8-24-25-26. Its a good place for seeing the other 24v trucks, getting parts & getting live advice on what to do.

Yea, I love the 12v's! They took 1st both nights at the pulls. There was 2 the first night and about 5 the second. The 24v's, well, we call'em over-valved for a reason

PSYCHOFREAK3,

Well, how about a day for some wrenching in September?

Do I hear a volunteer place?

You 24v guys need to give him some how too's.

You can come to Justice any time for some wrenching, being that my truck is MIA.

Do we have any other thoughts on this???????
