Oahu Guys

I'm buying an 08 on the mainland in June and bringing to to Oahu this fall. My fiance is stationed there. Is there any emissions testing? Or can I straight pipe it? What dealers will still do warranty work with a DPF delete? (if any)

isn't it a federal law or something to tamper or delete any of the emissions equipment on any vehicle especially the newer ones....but as for hawaii, there is no smog testing, just a safety check which is no big deal and basically a waste of time and money. they check your lights and brakes and horn and stuff..no biggy. but dealer's will void warranty if your muffler or dpf is tampered with. but i'm sure if you look hard enough you can find mod friendly dealers anywhere....like they say, it's who you know. i guess it all depends on how much you value your factory warranty, because everyone's doing it.

In Hawaii, we do not have emmisions testing. But, we do have annual safety inspection... Any modifications (Rims, suspension lift, steering wheel, etc.) must pass a reconstruction criteria in which a decal will be issued, then you can get a state safety inspection.

oh i forgot about the fact that they check aftermarket add-on's(recon)....fortunately, we don't have that on the big island...another waste of time and money.
