black stacks

Anyone get another word on the black pipes? I thought they were suppose to be out by now.

you can make you own easy go to a big truck store a buy some exhaust and than cut it at a miter or get turnouts than paint it with 1200 degree black.

Grand Rock chromes our stacks. Our plater will not "Black Chrome" exhaust pipes. They tell me it doesn't stand up to heat. I've called several other platers, and got the same answer. Silverline offers a "smoked stainless", and I think thats the closest you'll get. The only other options are high heat powder coating, or the best thing to do, is ceramic coat the stacks black.

there is a guy near me has black stacks they are not stainless,they are home made whetherhe keeps them painted or not ,but there look good and are not rusty .....i am running a straight pipe on my log truck just plain pipe it`s painted with the alui.paint it `ll rust after a few months....depending on weather

My friend had a CAT black stack, it was kind of a bull hauler style, but real rough, rugged looking. kind of square bends, exposed welds. we stuck them in the back of my buddies charcoal 04.5 looked pretty good.
