Kroger Fuel Station Won't Give out Current Diesel Prices!!!

Not even ballpark!! Girl said she would get fired if she told me over the phone!!??!?!!??!

Are all gas stations like that?

I am on a quest to find cheapest fuel around, and this non-disclosure kind of bugs me....

Although I guess I understand their reluctance to give out fuel prices all day long or to have customer mad if price changes 10 minutes after call...

I dunno, the whole downstream/retail fuel industry seems a bit shady. This wasn't discussed on this forum, but about 3 weeks ago in Canada several companies and one individual were charged (and pleaded guilty) to fuel price fixing. The Competition Bureau is watching all over Canada, apparently, just waiting to get enough evidence like they finally did in Quebec. Companies fined for fixing gas prices

Can you get the cheapest price information online anywhere?

Some gas stations in my area are the same way. Back in highschool I did a study in statistics and had to call to get prices and some of them wouldn't tell me. I thought it was very odd

Some stations have this policy to protect their profits. They make only a few cents on the tank full of gas you pump. Their real money is you coming inside the store and remembering you needed to buy that gallon of milk for $6. Telling you the price over the phone would instantly rule out the possiblity of a sale outside to them.

The Canada situation is... interesting...

Thanks for the feedback and the MSN link

Guess who showed up under 30014 Covington?

KROGER #1214 3139 HIGHWAY 278 NE, COVINGTON, GA 30014

$4.77. So at least I know I can get diesel at $4.67 there with Kroger card...

Interesting to see how many at $4.899...

Discouraging to note increase to $4.69 in Jefferson area:

Cheapest premium in my area is $3.98 at a Randall's... and we've been paying $4.15 at a Valero for a while now.
