Looks like you and I have come to an easy agreement after all these debates, eh Gary? LOL

AHhh - never WAS a disagreement - I still figure the TP filters like mine are superior, but for guys wanting something easier and faster to service, the Amsoil ones are fine. Main thing is, for guys planning on long-term ownership and high miles on their Cummins, a decent bypass filter is a BIG plus!

(But my FRANTZ is STILL best!)

I did a cut and paste on much of the pics and text in this thread, bringing it over from the TDR where it was originally posted by me. That was a much longer thread, and one issue covered there, but not here, was the oil return I use thru the oil fill cap:

I modded mine with a short length of added copper tubing to extend drain-back deeper into the valve chamber - and also to make the swivel fitting easier to install into the Stant cap.

The Amsoil swivel seen is part # is BP-89 - and Wayne Owen (Amsoilman) can fix you up with one if you don't have another source - I switched over to the same STANT #11111 oil fill cap he uses with that swivel fitting because it wouldn't fit properly to the stock one on the Cummins - the Stant works great, and is available at many auto parts stores.

Some have tried to drill/modify the stock filler cap for oil return, but sometimes that causes leakage due to internal structure of the OEM cap - so use of the solid Stant works much better - and safer!

I was exchanging email with Deb at wefilterit.com, and she mentioned a special she has going on now for the Frantz setups - just in case anyone is interested.
