nothing.

Some will say that the air that enter the turbo will not hit the turbine more violently and cause the turbo to wear quicker. Although I have never seen any proof.

The ring is supposed to funnel air into the turbo some say, otherwise you're just tryin to achieve more turbo whistle

It does not do anything for performance. It just makes the turbo sing a little louder.

The only thing you gain is the whislte and bark of the turbo, it doesnt cause the turbo to wear faster, if that were the case construction equiment would have silencer rings.

It looks cool.... I wouldn't question removing it just get rid of the thing !!! lol

Um just get some good small plyers and slowly work its way out. I know I have read threads where its a b**** to remove. I think if you use 2 plyers and remove it like you would a tire from a rim it should be easy, I never tried it tho

You just pop the lock ring out... small flathead and some needle nose worked for me

Turbo Engineering (TEC) jason has tested this on there flow bench. you actually lose flow. and the turbo surges more. he says its a surge protector.
