like & dislike thread

I have owned my truck for about 3 months now and I seem to have found a lot I like about it and a few things i don't. So I felt like making a post to see how everyones feeling about there truck.

I like the general feel of the power, sounds like a semi, looks really nice from most angles, awesome turning radius, strong brakes, cool and very useful cup holders one-size fits all, comfortable interior, easy to do bolt on-mods, engine very accesible compared to v-8's and it sounds better than any v-8 diesel.

I don't like the sloppy feeling steering, the turbo is kinda quiet and it won't spin the tires at all unless they are wet, possibly a good thing just embarising when trying to show other trucks whos got the better motor

Ditch the K&N for a dry filter and your complaint will be the turbo is too loud...but seriously, ditch the K&N...

I just switched to a 2006 - 2500 Laramie Quad CTD from a Ford, mostly for the CTD, so do you want a list? :- )

Sitting next to the Ford the Dodge still looks like a girly truck to me. It seems pretty dang light duty compared to the Fords or the big GMC’s. I like the dash but I feel like I just went back five years in the little things, example, like the way the onboard computer works, flicking the key on and off to adjust settings? <sheesh>

I do love the Cummins though! Its funny, it feels like I joined a cult around here too<g>

Love the truck, she pull`s great empty and towing,
the only thing I hate is the overhead, its either in metric, or USA gallons, I live in Canada why not put it in Canadian gallons, but then its not really close so it stays on temp.

Not trying to argue with you, but...

I don't know abou the "girly" stuff you are talking about... The way I see it Dodge makes the best looking truck in the market and it has been like that for a while. It wasn't until recently that Chevy even came close. I like Chevy's new style, but their old styles were pretty dull.. IMO Dodge trucks have really agressive, in your face styling... Even though in my opinion RAM quality was below par (going through various reviews online), their styling has always been noteworthy and bold.

Likes - obviously from my above post - I like the style and I like the fact that it has a cummins engine. The truck is pretty powerful.

Dislikes - The interior can be improved. However, I have figured that using a quality vinyl protectant to clean the interior can make a huge difference in the appeal..

My silencer ring is gone, it made a good difference. I think it can't spin the tires cause of the little turbo they put on 01 automatics, it wont build much boost. Actually all it takes is one small person and one arm to lift up on the back and the tires will get moving. Does anyone know why they put a turbo with like a 20% smaller opening on it on just the 01 autos.

Love the truck , hate the gray seat material. I wish I would have gone with leather......other than that, no complaints.

3rd gen body
24v exhaust sound
awesome turbo whine
2005 black interior looks great
5.9 simplicity top notch
top notch low rpm torque

oem headlights weak
excessive wind noise (off mirrors?)
breaks work great but could have a better feel

>>Not trying to argue with you, but...

I wasn't expecting that on a Dodge board :-)

It's all good, I love my truck, but I'd never use the words aggressive or in your face style <g>

I put up a photo but it doesn't seem to show up yet..
