New to me truck has a few issues

Well just got back to NY with my 01. Trip went well, no problems but the truck does have some minor issues.

It needs new fog lights as the ones on it are all yellow and nasty.

The stacks need to be secured in the bed. The previous owner had taken the stacks off but I requested he put them back on before I picked it up which he did but apparently couldn't find the necessary items to secure them in the bed. So now they just kind of sit in the bed and they move when hitting bumps and such. How are you all securing these things?

It has leather seats but my heaters aren't working. When I hit the switches for the heaters they just flash for a few minutes and then go out. WTF does this mean?

The steering wheel is kinda sticky and smells funny. It appears it was a leather wrapped wheel but the leather wore off. I would get a cover but I hate how most covers are so thick.

The driver side mirror isn't really cracked, but spider webbed which distorts the view.

The steering wheel has about a 1/4 turn of play in it. I can literally turn it 1/4 turn each way left and right while driving and the truck doesn't turn. Also, straight for the truck is not straight for the wheel.

Where can I get the parts I need to fix this rig and where should I start as far as trouble shooting these problems?

Fog lights - ebay

Seats-they have a timer in them...maybe something got screwed up? I would check fuses and possibly connections.

Steering wheel - had same thing with an '02. Picked up a wheel cover from wally world, fit perfect (very thin).

Steering - welcome to junk Dodge trucks...you're looking at a bunch of front end parts..do a search and I assure you you'll find plenty of reading

My dad's 01 has play in the wheel just like yours. 01's are very notorious for that. He has replaced the whole front end about 3 times on his 01. It's decent (not perfect) for about 3-4 monthes then back to the same old play.

Yeah this one has already had the front end replaced about 40K ago and it's back to doing it again apparently.

Seat heaters

Look under the seats at the heater DIN connectors, the buttons will flash if the heater is disconnected.

Oh I noticed another thing today. There appear to be buttons on the sides of the steering wheel. What do they do? Not the cruise buttons, but behind them on the sides of the part where the airbag is.

The left ones are for changing the station and the right ones are for volume. Is the radio stock?

Look into Lukes links on the front end issues...The tracking bar is the biggest issue.
