Granted our trucks may not be ideal for "saving the planet" but the fact that these people expect us to pay MORE for taxes just because they don't have to is ludicrous. Granted the 24~ MPG i get on the highway isn't anything near the 45 they CAN get in the city, but in the event of a collision I have more metal than plastic around me.

For the record if I am traveling less than 5 miles in either direction i ride my 15 speed bicycle.

If these guys really want to save energy, epically the energy that's required to MAKE the vehicle Vento Motorcycles, USA is the way to go. That being said I am considering getting one of these, the 49cc one you don't need a motorcycle endorsement for.

Everytime i see a prius i feel the need to cover it in smoke, i think the little VW 1.8L or whatever gets better economy than a prius could ever dream of haha, and pound for pound and considering engine displacement i bet our cummins get better mileage than a dang prius

I still think just limiting horsepower (excessive) would have the quickest and least painless (as compared to more taxes) intervention.
So forcing vehicles to have lower power/weight ratios is better for fuel economy? Somebody please pull the plug on that forum.

Someone who tows a bunch just needs an LED sign that says "Attention prius drivers! My average weight towed is: xxxx, while still maintaining an average fuel economy of: xxxx. Who is more efficient now?"

I do not see me getting my wife, kids, and dog with all our camping gear while towing the bike somewhere being very comfortable in one of those things. But come on now, after reading the "Pimp my Prius" section how could I not want to suffer the pain to look cool.

I know I didnt buy my truck to look cool, I didnt buy it to tow with, I bought it because diesel is effiecient, and a lot of fun to try and get some power out of.

I think there is a federal bill in congress right now that states something like dou$%ebags must purchase prius and gloat about mpg...to bad they don't realize the gell battery in the back seat is basically cancer under the seat, with an expected life of 5 years.. lots of dead prius in the future... at present $5000 to replace battery

I find it funny that a lot of these prius' are getting 40-45mpg and they are bragging about it. I had an 05 Civic and averaged 36 with it...
