increasing my fuel milage

Hay every one I bought a 2007 2500 4X4 with a 5.9L. I love it and have been wanting one for a long time and decided to get one. Big increase compared to my 1500. But today I was at a gas station gassing up. A guy next to me has a F250 and we were talking and he said he has a programmer ( I forgot the name), after market Exhaust system 4 inch. He said he is getting about 25 MPH on the highway! I am getting about 16-17 MPH highway and I am 100% stock. Has any one here did these upgrades to their dodge and get this mileage increase with these modifications? thanks.

it just all depends, adding a programmer will help some, its hard for me to believe that a v-8 diesel is getting 25 mpg i call on that one.. but certain chips/boxes/prgrammers will help you out... most now will raise rail pressure a little bit... with that being said helps the fuel atomize better. which in return burns off more fuel instead of waisting it, helping out your fuel mileage... for increases the truck needs to breath, i would go with an aftermarket air intake, open up the exhaust and add a chip or programmer.. the more air in and the more air out, the better off she will breath and help out your fuel mileage....:thumbsup
