48Re on a stock setup is a solid tranny. Are you trying to make a dual purpose animal or 2 seprate trucks?

Valve body and converter and it'll hold up real well to daily towing. But burn outs will burn it out fast.

Where are you from.... We build a nice street/stock trans that specializes in towing and overall long life. If your close we can put you in a customer truck for a test drive

when i bought my truck it had 53k on it, within a year i put 27k on it, actually i almost put 30k on it in a year. when i pulled my tranny at 70k to replace it with a new goerend one, it was still in working order. fluid was alittle burnt and it could have used a flushing and a new filter- but it still shifted fine and never failed me in the 17k i had put on it. the previous owner ran an edge with attitude on it, when i got it i threw a xzt on it for awhile. i stepped up to a smarty and ran the 90hp tune a24/7. never complained, yea she shuttle shifted from 1-2-1-2 a couple times, but the converter never failed and she never broke a shaft.... they are reliable in stock form, you can add alittle extra to them but i wouldnt go overboard till you got a built unit. good luck!
