New pump no smoke

I just got my truck back from the shop, new lift pump and injector pump.

Truck runs much better but seems very low on power. The EGT temp can now never get above 800 degrees and takes awhile to get to that point.

I have also noticed that I can not even get the truck to smoke even at full throttle pulling a heavy load.

The shop claims that everything is "preset by the pump rebuilder and should not be tampered with" what can I or should I do? The truck now feels like a 6 culinder as compared to a spunky V8.

What is done to the pump in a stage 1 upgrade?

Thanks for any imput.
