Exclamation Shimmys and Shakes

I have a 2002 dodge 2500 ext cab 4wd. It has a 5 in lift on it. When ever i hit a lil hole or a bump just right in the road it starts my whole truck to shaking and i mean hardcore shaking. I have to slam on the brakes and get stopped. I have a track bar from thuren to put on so i got that part covered. could the sway bar be the problem? if so how would i fix it being as the trucks lifted... i took a few pictures with my cell phone but i cant seem to get them to post on the thread...ill put them im my photos..thanks

this is called "death wobble," a common problem in Jeeps and some 4x4 trucks. The bad part is that once you have it, it never really goes away no matter what you do. The good news is that a heavy duty steering stabilizer will usually control it. Be certain that your front tires are balanced and not flat spotted. Sway bars only control body roll on turns, and will not affect death wobble one way or the other.

Sometimes altering the caster on a front end alignment job helps as well. Note that lift kits will alter caster by changing the angle of the entire truck as well as the front axle.
