VP vs Commonrail Truck

I got a question about the two. There is a 5.9 commonrail with ATS intake, a programmer (i think a smarty may be HS) and then you got my truck which is in my sig. We was at our local hangout area and yea there were some dang good looking gals away and some of the diesel guys called me out about the Commonrail and my truck. We never lined them up though. Before i go looking like a moron. Will my truck keep up or take this Commonrail? He went to Thoroughbred Diesel on Judgement Day and dyno results said he was about 407HP / 900 some tq lbs

If he has 3.73's you got a real good chance. Your 4.10's are the equalizer. Yours is lighter by a bit unless his is a reg cab. I'm not too familiar with what you might be at power wise.

His is a 4-door short bed mine is extended cab short bed. Ive seen people with the same setup as me hitting 420-450 hp then over 500 if i had a bigger turbo. Idk what gear ratio he has but i know it isnt a 4;10

K so you've got a similar powered truck thats lighter and has better gearing. Plus you've got a built trans to put it to the ground. Might be a close race. If not close you should walk away from him. I think you have the favor. You've got a trans to put the power down too.

If he's running a good Smarty program, you don't stand a chance. Not one iota...the only real mod you have is a drag Comp.

Edit: there's the sticks. He should still get you, a CR with a good tune is easily in the 450+ range, without knowing what tuning and year he has, it's hard to say for sure. If it's H&S, it's an 06-07...

^^^^^ I agree. A CR with the right tune is no joke. Race to be sure and good luck. I want to see the video!
