want to build a spare

i have a 00 dodge and was wondering what kind of block will work for my 24 valve in place of the original. i would like to keep the stock stuff but i would like to build an engine from the bottom up with a lot more power and still drive it every day. what is your opinion? what issues have you ran into? i am open to any thing.

If you can get a hold of an 06 CR, it don't take much to have em cranking 500 hp.

i kind of like the twins idea. do they offer anything for the bottom end like a crank or rods etc.? or do i even really need to build the bottom being that i would like to still drive it every day? i was wanting to locate a block in the future so i don't have to pull mine and get the best bang for my buck.

If you put a p-pump on you can still use it for a daily driver. Schield deisel, hasileymachine.com, they have all the build up parts that you can think of.
