ok,i just put a new fuel filter in my truck.with the old filter i was running 20psi at idle and it would never drop below 10psi w.o.t.now with the new filter it is running 15psi at idle and will now drop to 6psi w.o.t. has anyone ever seen or heard of this before???
no,same filter that i always use, also do you know how much of a pressure drop from idle to w.o.t. is too much.mine is dropping 7-10 psi from idle to w.o.t.
Always try to stay above 7PSI at WOT and work range..... If your lift pump can keep up your in good shape.
I would try another filter as well, in rare cases I have seen filters be defective... it is rare because it is costly and filter company's pay attention but you could have bad one.
The drop in pressure you are mentioning is large for going in the right direction.
Unless your old filter had a problem and was passing fuel instead of filtering.
ok,i just put in another new filter, too bad they are over 30 bucks a piece, now i have another problem, now i have 30psi at idle.what happens if i leave it like that??i dont know what it is dropping to w.o.t. cause i havent run it yet but i bet it is around 20 or so.
