i was cleaning out are old parts shed at work and found a ht80 holeset turbo off of an N14 cummins truck engine, anyone here think i could make it work with the stocker? or should I just save my hard earned dollars and buy a kit.i am thinking it is way to big.eelout
Yeah, there's definitely benefits to be had in putting a second turbo below the stock one. It requires head work to save the stock head gasket; I keep hearing that new trucks can get away without very much. The MLS gaskets can, anyways, whatever trucks have those.
But, HX80 sounds big... Common bottom turbos are in the HX50-60 range. I'm assuming that 80's would be bigger, they might be a redesigned 60 for all I know... I'm not much of a turbo savant, there are quite a few around here though...
