Escort Passport 9500i ....if you don't want to spend that much, the 8500 will work just fine. Your third choice is the Valentine 1....anything lower than that and you'd be better off without.
I got a Valentine 1 when I drove between Tucson and Las Vegas quite often. The AZ Highway Patrol like to run their speed traps in layers (usually three deep along I-10 right by Eloy or Casa Grande).
On more than one occasion I would slow down and with the Valentine I could see there were still two more signals ahead. Someone [else] would invariably speed up after the first speed trap and get caught in the second or third trap. :rof
Several of the people that sped up (and got caught) had radar detectors.
The downside is the Valentine is pricey; although, the top-of-the-line Passport costs about the same.
They got a new one out that they say scrambles radars, and if you get a ticket while using one, they will pay the fine...i just cant remember the name yet...lol
I use whisler. The other radar detectors are better! IN my 93 5sd ,It would slowed5 mph instantlythen10 quick.By the second beep! They would be pissed at me. I could see it in some of there faces. Some even prepare to turn around but there radar systems where to slow. Their Alot faster now.And can do more than one rig at a time. they can turn it on and on the fisrt beep, your already been had. Most cop give you time by leaving it on all the time or 2 beeps.I like thoughs cop alot. Thy seemed to like themselfs and other people attitude! YOU can have the best and still get caught. But it is better than nothing.
