Well, as I've posted around the forum my old 05 Duramax was stolen on 1 April.
Wait...lemme start this out right:
So there I was, watering my sand (live in the desert) when the local law pulls up and motions me to come over. "Jew 'port a t-ruck stowlen?" so after he figured out I had, he handed me a number to call and drove off.
When I called the number, the lady told me my truck had been recovered after it attempted to cross the border back into the US carrying about 3,000 lbs of Mary Jane.
Guess the fellers decided to make a run for it. That's when the border patrol learned about Ranch hand bumpers! :lol3:
So two spike strips later and they finally got her to stop. I had forgotten I had the Hypertech on level three.:w:
Good news is, Farmer's Insurance needs to go pick up their trashed out truck!
Bad news is, all of my stuff inside is gone, along with the back seat, carpet, stereo and anything else they didn't need.
OH, and the way the truck was stolen was a "master key" which was in the truck when they found it! So dont believe any of the manufacturer's BS on how great their pass keys, remote keys and crap is! Get a ravelco!!!!
That blows! You think the insurance will give you a hard time because they used a key? Kind of makes it look like you left it running at a gas station and they took off with it. Insurance companies can be so crooked...
Nah, insurance company has already paid off. Plus my cousin is my agent! I just hope they didn't hurt the Border Patrols cars and trucks too much with the front ranch hand bumper! eelout
All I did was explain to them that I used my truck to take care of my animals on the ranch and the longer I went without a truck the longer they would go without food!
Besides, down here in this area, most of the trucks that are stolen are across the border by the time the law shows up and the likelihood of getting them back are slim to none. If those fellas hadn't ran the border crossing checkpoint, they wouldn't have gotten mine back either. Nasty lil' bastards!
They didn't get the police chase on video, did they? Dash board cameras?
Part of me wants my truck to get stolen and in a police chase, just so I can know how many of my pistons would melt if it was held wide open for a minute or so...
It sucks to think about our beloved trucks getting stolen, then think about how the ******* low lifes are driving them, as hard as the local fun center go-carts, only across desserts, and not giving a crap.just beating the hell out of them. gosh, if anybody steals my truck, ahhh. they would get it good.
I'm too chicken to run from the cops myself, but I wouldn't mind doing it vicariously.
It'd be downright embarassing if it broke down a minute into the car chase or something... I'd hope it'd at least make the Caprices and Crown Victorias work for it a little, you know?
Sucks that they stole your truck but it was a blessing in disguise because you got rid of that duracrap and got a CUMMINS THE ONE AND ONLY REAL DIESEL :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup
when my truck was stolen all state farm offered me was 30 bucks a day for a rental...now where am l gona find a truck for 30 bucks..geez
glad ya got yer truck back..know the feelin
Our '05 Dodge 4-door 4wd dually was stolen back in August of '07, and progressive still has not paid, denying coverage on the basis that we cannot provide cell phone records between my mother and father.
Well, I dunno how good she held up, but if they had to throw the spike strips down, I guess she faired pretty well. Trying to see if I can get the rims and tires off of her from the insurance company. Hell, they didn't pay me for any of my accessories anyway!:w:
