the problem is how the VP44 is lubricated. The VP44 pump is actualy lubricated and cooled by the diesel fuel itself. take away the diesel and the pump will eat itself up in short order.

the CP3 pump in the 03+ HPCR trucks is lubricated and cooled by the engine oil like the VE and P7100 pumps. The 03-some 05's still have the fuel filter mounted lift pump, the same pump the VP44 has. it will die, it is just a matter of when. however a nice aspect about the CP3 is when the lift pump dies it wont take the CP3 with it since it is lubricated by the engine oil. in about 05.5 on these trucks use an in-tank pusher pump that is supposed to be a bit more reliable.

is a fuel pressure gage mandatory for lift pump equiped HPCR trucks. not realy, but it is nice to get an early warning of lift pump problems before you are stranded.

so to answer your question for your 06, I doubt you need one in stock form, but once the mods start appearing I would suggest haveing one.

I know the steering column mount is differant for the 03's +. but every thing else should work....just off the top of my head....i used to install TONS of gauges! As far as fuel pressure, its not as improtant as the 2nd gen 24V's. BUT when mods do happen...its not hard to suck down to 0-1 PSI and run your rail dry..

Great Idea.......

Mounts are the same price for the 03+ trucks so only thing that would change the price is if one wanted a Autometer Electronic FP gauge as the Isspro's and Dipricol's are mechanical.

Thanks for the info. I hate being such a noob about all this. Oh well, that's why I'm here, to learn!

Just checking to make sure that is a BHAF and not just an OEM replacement filter. They don't show a picture. That price seems too good to be true.
