2006 Ram 2500, problems?

Just bought an 06 Ram 2500, cummins, quad cab, short box.

Are there any major problems that arise frequently with these trucks that I should be aware of?

The truck I bought will have no warranty, which I wasn't aware of at time of purchase, so I'd just like to get an idea of what I might have to deal with in the future.

I've had mine for just over a year and haven't noticed anything to give me pause. I have had the Smarty for about 4000-5000 miles.

1 year an 4 months going on mine and not one problem to speak of. Had my Smarty for over 20,000 miles now. Got 34,000 on it. Best purchase i ever made. Even though i get a wild hair and try to sell it now and again. Now ive got too much money in it to sell it. Damn toys!

got mine in march of 06 and i have 19200 miles on it.

had the front main seal replaced
replaced seatbelt tensioner on driver side
replaced dr side tow mirror
and the trans is really pissing me off.

we all know they are indecisive (sp) on what gear to be in. but mine has started jumping back and fourth between gears and making it buck and feel like its sliping and really hard shifts. so that sucks. dodge says theres nothing wrong with it. so now i just have to deal with it i guess.

2 things from this post
1: I don't feel so bad about putting 30k on my truck in 1 year. and
2: Problems are slim with my truck, which seems normal.

Things I have ran into.

Dirty injectors. At about 25k (After a fill up at a "questionable" station) I had some stumbling and white smoke at start up. A fuel bowl of Sea Foam, and 1 can in the tank solved that.

I had brake light issues, but the dealer fixed it no questions asked. Stayed late on a friday night ( 8 pm ) and never once even looked at, or inputed my VIN into the system.

My suggestion, go in and talk to your closest service department. Making friends is a good thing. Other than that, drive that sucker.

Tex did you adjust your trans shifting points for the oversized tires, made a big diff on my 06. 30,000 miles edge/att , lots of pulling miles ,only replaced the steering box under warranty, apparently does not like oversized tires, according to the Dodge dealer ,great truck.
