DIY Fuel Pressure Gauge question

I set up A fuel pressure gauge (thanks for the write up illflem)
works great. My only question is, do I have to start the vehicle with the needle valve closed every time or just after install? Thanks very much

Once you have the needle valve adjusted so the needle doesn't pulsate tighten down the packing nut below the valve handle so your adjustment is locked in.
