48RE Inspection plate view

Am I supposed to be able to see the torque converter bolts through the inspection plate? The teeth on the flexplate go to the very front (engine side) of the bell housing. I can't see the converter bolts to attempt to check their tightness.

Do you mean the inspection hole in the bottom of the bell housing? If so, then no you cannot see the torque converter bolts. There is a removable plate on the side of the motor (mine was passenger side, opposite the starter) that allows you to use a barring tool to turn over the motor, you can see the torque converter bolts from in there and check their torque.
