Not a bad lookin truck. Would be better if it were a 5 speed.

He says that the pump has had a fuel cone professionally installed, which I'm sure is true, but who knows what else the shop did to the pump. I can't see the fuel screw from the pictures, but I don't think you can get that much smoke with just a cone on a stock pump. I think that much smoke implies at least smoke screw adjustments, which typically bely power screw adjustments.
There's nothing the matter with that, except the fact that he's not running a pyrometer. And I think that's a 21 cm housing on the turbo too.
Now, a 21 housing with stock injectors and torque convertor make it very hard to see excessive EGT's; it's probably fine and can't pull temps over 1100 degrees. But I don't know anybody who is quasi-knowledgeable with these trucks that will keep a 21 housing and not run a pyrometer.
Which isn't a bad thing for the buyer; I think it's clear that this guy didn't beat on the truck at all. 2000 mile oil change intervals support that.
The truck is sexy and ready to be turned up, but with the oversized tires, stock tranny, big housing, no pyrometer and questionable pump, there's work to be done before it's gonna have any teeth to it. But at any rate, it seems to be a very good platform.

If you want it to be able to get out of its way, you're looking at a $200 pyrometer, a $200 turbine housing and probably a $400-600 torque convertor. If anybody buys it, don't expect much in the way of performance.
