Newbie, some tips

Hello! I'm obviously new to the forums. I'm not sure why but it was almost my wish to have a cummins. When I turned 16 I bought a 1500 quad cab but now I just turned 18 and leaving for the Air Force next june figured it would be a good time to buy my first cummins. I don't know much about diesel and know theirs a lot more to them or maintaining them. I was just wondering what the main do's and don't are. I don't wanna be messing this truck up. I live in the snow belt but a lot of diesels around, amish neighbors lol. I also read one some post that you guys don't like the k&n on your trucks? I was looking to just get a new filter for it. Any advice, help is greatly appreciated!

I just get in and drive. Stay away from K+N, they don't filter well. Use fuel from a station that sells a lot. Use the best filtering filters you can buy. Let the turbo cool before you shut the truck off.

I also got a wireless starter sitting in a box and was wondering if anyone had any problems with them on a diesel?
