Hey maybe you guys will laugh about this like I did. Last weekend is when this happened.
I bought a motorcycle. It's a 2006 kawasaki ninja 250 with only 1600 miles. Anyways I found it on ebay and bought it. Instead of deciding to take it up the butt hole to get it shipped here I decided to drive from my home in bridgeport, nebraska all the way down to durango, colorado The drive was like 9.5 hours down so I took a friend with me. He's a good guy, don't get me wrong, but the dumb b***ard got me going east on I-80 rather than west. So I would have gone to omaha rather than colorado. Luckily I caught our mistake after 40 miles After that little venture into blissful ignorance, we had to drive through a rain storm for about 2 hours. After that rain storm, we made it down there relatively stress free! We got the bike, spent 2 hours trying to get the bike strapped in cause two old guys were bit**ing on how best to secure the bike. Finally, we started on our way back to bridgeport, nebraska w00t. Now don't you guys think that it's crap that a 3/4 ton dodge cummins with dual bullhauler stacks and hauling a red kawasaki ninja gets caught by the cops doin 64mph in a 40!!!!! I was really tired and switched so that my friend would drive my dodge(It doesn't feel right sitting in the passenger's side if ya know what I mean ) I told him once we got past these mountains to watch for the turnoff to get back on I-25. So, ya know, I took a nap for about an hour, woke up, and realized we were in a town nowhere near where we should have been I asked my friend if he ever saw the sign to get on I-25, and his reply was, "No. I was just driving!":fist: Luckily we ended up in walsenburg when I woke up, and there was beautiful I-25. We drove on that for a while and finally got into denver. Some ford stoke was going by me, and the passenger had his window down and gave me the thumbs up mouthing the words "nice truck man!":thumbsup :thumbsup We got to an exit to I-225 and that led us to I-70. From here I decided that we would eventually end up on I-80. Three hours later, I was thinkin the same thing "eventually.........." So I called my mom, and I told her the town I had just passed. She told me that I was in the southeastern part of colorado and about 45 minutes from crossing the border into kansas So at this one town, My friend and I got onto north 385 and drove for two and a half hours to get to I-80, taking us to sidney, and thus taking us back to good ol' bridgeport, NE. So a nine and a half hour drive back ended up being 12 hours, so my friend and I got back at midnight saturday night. Oh and if any of you are wondering, we didn't sleep at a motel. We drove down all night, picked the bike up that next morning, and came straight back without a wink of sleep:thumbsup

I once drove from Minnesota to Dallas, TX non-stop, picked up a quarterhorse stallion, and drove back non-stop. The truck never shut off for all 2100 miles. Trailer was a 6 horse gooseneck. Ah those were the days....

I once drove from Southeastern Ok to Humboldt, Iowa. It was a 12 Hr drive. We left at 10 p.m. on a friday night and pulled into my driveway and 11 saturday night. All for a choped 51 four door chevy.
LOL Great story!! I still drive to Shreveport,LA from S.Dak and back in one trip. takes 21 hours one way!! That is a loonnnggggdrive!! I know exactly how Chuck felt after that drive! But I dont do it very often any more. Now that Im gettin older, I take my time and do it in a 2 day drive and take a couple of days while there. Funny how a person wises up!!

Yep, me too. I drove some stupid long runs when I was younger. Now with a wife and kids, I take the common sense route. I did a NC to MN run once non-stop as well. That was another mind squeezer.
