Question No, Its not a 53 block, and its not a 54 55 or 56 either...

So....I bought this shortblock off of ebay, paid 425 for everything except for the front timing cover and gears and the oilpan, but also got a set of rockers and stands along with the valve covers and a pushrods. The block's only casting numbers are 0119A, not a 5- series block, so whats up with this? I've been doing some research and found that this company called Teksid out of mexico made some super heavy duty thick walled blocks that used a number series possibly like what I have here.

Here is a picture of the number, its a little dark, but you can see it, this is on the drivers side front of the block:

Thats the only numbers I've found on the block so far, there might be some stamped into it somewhere, but I wont find those untill I've hot tanked the block and get all the grease out of it.

What do you guys think, did I find something, a steal?

Late mexico - the '50' series blocks didn't dominate the entire field.

How long have you had the mods on your truck? Just curious. Just keep an eye on it.
